Dubai Flexi Rent Initiative Tops 7,000 Beneficiaries in Two Months

Dubai Land Department's Flexi Rent initiative has exceeded 7,000 beneficiaries within two months of its launch and now covers commercial properties alongside residential units, according to Al Khaleej newspaper.
The department said the initiative has generated positive engagement from tenants, property owners and property management companies, reflecting demand for rental payment models that better accommodate the differing needs of Dubai's market.
Flexi Rent enables property owners and tenants to agree on payment arrangements that suit the property, business activity and requirements of both parties. The agreed terms and any rental benefits are then incorporated into the tenancy contract.
The initiative is not limited to the residential market. Eligible properties include apartments, villas, offices and retail spaces, according to Dubai Land Department's official Flexi Rent platform. Participating companies may offer payment in monthly, quarterly or semi-annual instalments, as well as other benefits such as grace periods, subject to their policies.
Dubai Land Department said the early response indicates growing interest among property owners and management companies in providing more varied payment options, while tenants have welcomed arrangements that allow them to manage their financial commitments with greater flexibility.
The department said broader adoption of flexible rental practices could help strengthen the relationship between landlords and tenants, improve the rental experience and support ease of doing business across Dubai's evolving real estate market.
Agreements signed with Flexi Rent partners run for one year and may be renewed, allowing the department to assess the initiative's impact and refine it in line with market needs. However, it said its longer-term objective is to encourage payment flexibility to become an established practice within Dubai's rental market.
Dubai Land Department added that it continues to develop the rental sector through the Smart Rental Index, enhanced digital services and a simplified journey for registering and managing tenancy contracts through Ejari.
The department said it is also working with private-sector partners to explore further initiatives that promote a rental ecosystem built on transparency, flexibility and efficiency, while safeguarding the rights of all parties.
